Gemini 4 Argon in Google AI Mode: deeper, more direct answers and what they mean for UK small businesses
Google's Gemini 4 Argon is now in AI Mode for paying users. Here's how to make your service pages easier for AI answers to use.

Short answer: Since 13 October 2026, Google AI Pro and Ultra subscribers can use Gemini 4 Argon in Google AI Mode. Google says Argon brings "depth and precision across multi-step tasks" and answers more directly, with less hedging. For a small business, a fuller answer needs clear facts to draw on: price, areas covered and turnaround.
What does that look like? Take a multi-step question such as "which accountant near me handles sole traders on a fixed fee?" (our example, not Google's). To answer it well, AI Mode has to weigh several local providers against the details the person asked for. Google hasn't said how Argon chooses sources or which sites it cites. But an answer can only use facts it can find, so a page that states them plainly gives it more to work with than one that doesn't. Google calls Argon "just the beginning" of its Gemini 4 family, and Pro and Ultra subscribers can also use it in the Gemini app.
Gemini 4 release date and what Google announced
Google released Gemini 4 Argon, which it calls its latest frontier model, on 13 October 2026. According to Google's announcement, it is available globally from that date:
in the Gemini app and AI Mode in Search, for Google AI Pro and Ultra subscribers;
for developers and businesses through the Gemini API;
in Google Antigravity for Ultra subscribers.
Google says Argon "excels at deep work in complex, real-world tasks", with "depth and precision across multi-step tasks". It also says Argon follows style instructions better than any previous Gemini model, answers more directly with less hedging, and doesn't repeat itself more than necessary.
For developers, Google lists an introductory API price of $2 per million input tokens and $10 per million output tokens. After 30 November 2026 that rises to $4 and $20. Those prices are in US dollars, and Google hasn't published UK pricing for the Pro plan in this announcement.
Most of the coverage has focused on coding and science. That is fair: Google's own examples include refactoring Chrome's code and drug discovery research. But the business uses are closer to home than they look.
What is Google AI Mode, and why it matters for your website
Google AI Mode is Google's conversational search, where people ask a full question and get a written answer instead of a list of links. For paying users, those answers can now come from Argon, which Google says brings "depth and precision across multi-step tasks".
If your service pages are vague about what you charge, which areas you cover and how long things take, there is less for it to work with, and a competitor who spells it out has the edge.
Google hasn't said whether people using AI Mode without a paid plan get Argon. Either way, the fix for your website is the same.
Google AI Mode SEO: two changes to make this week
State price, area and turnaround plainly. Add one clear line near the top of each service page. A "from" price is fine if your pricing varies. Name the towns or areas you cover. Give a typical turnaround. Plain sentences are easier for both people and AI to quote.
Answer real customer questions. Add three to five questions your customers actually ask, each with a short, direct answer, to your main service page. Use their wording, not yours. If you're not sure what they ask, check your inbox and your phone notes.
Using Argon for your own admin
If you already pay for Google AI Pro, you have Argon in the Gemini app now. Google's own demo shows it taking an unstructured folder of project notes and turning it into a client proposal deck.
That kind of job is where a small business can save time: a quote built from your notes, a tidy summary of a long email thread, or a first draft of a proposal. Pick one real task this week and try it.
Keep one rule. A person checks every figure, name and promise before anything goes to a client. A clean-looking document can still be wrong, and your name is on it.
What we'd do this week
Add one plain line covering price, area and turnaround to each service page.
Add three to five real customer questions, with short answers, to your main service page.
If you pay for Google AI Pro, test Argon on one admin task, and check the result before you send it.
None of this is specific to one model. Clear, factual service pages help with ordinary Google search, AI answers and the customers reading them.
